Vettel Dominates in Japan

Sebastian Vettel dominated the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka at the weekend and led from start to finish in supreme fashion. The win was important for the Red Bull driver as it still offers him a slim chance of winning the driver’s championship after a lack lustre performance from leader Jenson Button who managed to scrape a point in eighth. Button still leads the way from team mate Rubens Barrichello by 14 points with two races still to run and Vettel lags Button by 16 points.

Both contenders may have an uphill struggle to recoup the points but stranger things have happened in F1 and a no finish by Button at the next race could really spice things up for the last race of the season.
The penultimate race of the season is in Brazil on the 18th of October.

Massa makes comeback target

Felipe Massa revealed to Brazilian television that he hopes to return to Formula 1 racing at his home grand prix. Massa, who is just 28, had a terrible accident during qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix. A spring flew up from the back of a Brawn car and hit him straight on the head, knocking him unconscious.

It causes major emotion in Formula 1 with Renault being punished for an incident where a tyre flew off Alonso’s car – which has recently been reversed. It also saw the announcement of Michael Schumacher, the legend of F1, embark on a comeback. However he was ruled out as he wasn’t fit enough due to a previous accident in which he damaged his neck. He had to prove his fitness, and this is what Massa will also have to do come the 18 October.
